Colorado Elk Hunting!!
G.H.R. offers numerous great elk hunting opportunities throughout the state, but decided to highlight two of our best!! For years now, I have been hearing that Colorado is not the place for big bulls? Well, I think that mentality is starting to chance, and these two hunts are a big reason why.
Hunt # 1: This is a Ranching for Wildlife hunt located South East of Denver on a sprawling ranch of nearly 80,000 acres. Access from either Denver or Colorado Springs is very easy, and the hunting generally is too! The outfitter runs 8-12 hunts per year, 100% success is the norm for bulls in the 320" - 330" range. The chance for a 350" plus bull is there, but is not the general rule of thumb. Lodge accommodations are very nice, and the ranch sits in a beautiful location here in our great state of Colorado.
Price: $9,000.00, 1on1, 5-day hunt. Price includes all meals & lodging. Hunt dates are during the rut from early September - early October.
Hunt # 2: Also a Ranching for Wildlife hunt, this one located in NW Colorado on a 22,000 acre ranch loaded with elk. In 2009 I did this hunt personally, shooting a 363" bull and literally passing up dozens of bulls from 330" - 360" B&C. The ranch does only 3-4 trophy elk hunts per year, and the hunter should be looking for bulls over 350" B&C. The possibility for a 370" plus bull is realistic, but 350" - 365" B&C is gonna be the norm. Lodge accommodations are decent, as is the food, but the hunting is exceptional! Price: $15,000.00, 1on1, 5-day hunt. Price includes all meals & lodging. Hunt dates are during the rut from Sept 10 - 30 each year.
New Mexico Elk Hunting!!
Global Hunting Resources has a couple of incredible elk hunting opportunities throughout the state of New Mexico. I've been outfitting in New Mexico since 2000, our success has been great, and we have managed to acquire some fantastic elk hunting spots. Along with our own hunts, a couple of our outfitters also offer some great elk hunting opportunities. Listed below are a just a few.
Hunt # 1: This fabulous elk hunt takes place on a 300,000 acre ranch loaded with quality bulls. Over the years, bulls have come in between 320" - 330" B&C on average, with a few 340" - 350" bulls taken each year. The ranch is fairly accessible, thus making the hunting a bit easier. 100% success is the norm here, and hunters are generally thrilled with the food & lodging. Price: $9,000.00 Hunt is 1on1 guided, food & lodging included. Hunt Dates - Archery: Sept. 1-22 Rifle: October
Hunt # 2: This outfitter has numerous private ranch hunts, mainly throughout south-central New Mexico is game units 36 & 37. I have personally been spending time here in NM with the outfitter over the past few weeks, and I can honestly say I was very impressed with some of the bulls I've seen, and the set up he has put together. Bulls will also average 320" plus, but if hunters are capable and willing to pass on these bulls, the chance to shoot a 350" plus is very real! I have personally seen numerous 350" plus bulls on his ranches in just the past few days, so I know they are around. Food & lodging facilities are pretty nice as well. Price: $7,500.00 2on1 guided, $8,250.00 1on1 guided. Food & lodging included. Hunt Dates - Archery Sept. 1-22 Rifle: October - Dec. 31.
