As many of you know, the single most sought after trophy in all of North America today is the Magnificent Mule Deer. With numbers dropping across the west and trophy class bucks becoming harder to find, this is perhaps the best hunt in all of N.A. for that Truly Monster Muley. Now I realize that some of you out there would argue this point, but when you factor in all the pieces of the equation I think you will agree. Considering the availability of the licenses, and the addition of a new Landowner tag system, and lastly the quality of the bucks taken each year, Eastern Colorado Stands alone. Sure I might rather hunt the Arizona strip, but 20 years from now you could still be trying to draw the tag, and why, we harvest 180-200” B&C bucks every year from areas that a tag can be obtained almost every single year. We haven’t even mentioned the outstanding quality of the Huge Whitetails yet either! In our specialized trophy unit in 2007 our clients harvested the following bucks. Two - Whitetails scoring 181" and 186" B&C, and three mulies, scoring 195", 198" and 237" B&C, the later two were harvested with a bow.
Along with eastern Colorado mulies and whitetails, we also have some tremendous deer hunts available in other regions of North America as well. Including but not limited to several of the hunts we have listed here in our brochure. Our Sonora, Mexico hunts are operated by one of the most successful outfitters in all of Sonora. Each and every year he consistently produces some of the finest Mule Deer and Coues Deer taken by international sport hunters. Mule deer average has consistently been in the mid 180's B&C year in and year out, the pictures here speak for themselves! Numerous coues deer bucks have been taken recently that have topped 115 - 125" B&C. Thirdly, we represent Whitetail deer hunts for one of the most well-known hunting celebrity/outfitters in the world, Jim Shockey. He has obtained over the past few years some of the best whitetail hunting Saskatchewan has to offer for the non-resident hunter. With 125 whitetail permits available each year, we assure you ample opportunity to secure an excellent hunt date and location for you and your hunting party. Bucks average in the 130's - 160's with the possibility of taking that true monster that Saskatchewan is famous for.
Deer Quality: Mule Deer bucks will range from
160-200" B&C, with several bucks over the magical 200" mark harvested in the
past several years. Whitetails will range from 140-170", once again with several
bucks between 180"- 200", harvested recently. Tags are all on a drawing basis,
with the Colorado preference point system utilized. Royal
Mountain Adventures currently lease over 120,000 acres of private property just
for our clients.
2007 Season Highlights: The 2 largest
whitetails harvested were 181" and 186" with numerous bucks over 160" taken by
bow and rifle hunters! The largest mule deer to date was taken by Corey Knowlton
of G.H.R., a whopping 233" non-typical muley shot with a bow! It will be
featured on Realtree Roadtrips with Michael
Waddell this fall. Michael too harvested his largest mule deer with a bow,
a 198" giant!!! Another handful of bucks over 180" were taken by deer hunting
clients this past fall. See More Monster Bucks

RIFLE HUNTS: will range from being able to
obtain a tag every year, to units requiring up to 4-6 pref. points to draw. We
have 2 rifle hunts, the first is approximately Oct. 25 - Nov. 5, the 2nd hunt is
always Dec. 1-14, not every unit has the December hunt. Most ranches are
limited to a maximum of (2) hunters per week, with 1 or 2 exceptions due to
higher deer densities. Most hunts are spot and stalk with some stand hunting.
MUZZLELOADER HUNTS: Take place in the
middle of October just prior to the First rifle hunt. The tags are extremely
limited and generally require 2-3 preference points to draw. See below for hunt
dates. Currently, 2 - 3 landowner permits will be available each year. This hunt
has an excellent opportunity to harvest a great buck. Most hunts are spot
and stalk.
ARCHERY HUNTS: This will truly be one of the
most exciting bow hunts you will ever experience, the quality of the bucks you
will witness on this hunt are incredible. The bow tags are 90-100% successful
every year in obtaining through the drawing process, due to the fact that the
entire eastern part of Colorado is all private property. You will certainly have
the opportunity to hunt for some tremendous bucks, and hopefully with a little
luck you can get an arrow in one. Hunts are done by spot and stalk and
stand hunting.
Currently: All hunts do not include food and
lodging in the total price, we have recently remodeled a ranch
house and will make accommodations and meals available from that location. Some
hunts will still be out of motels and restaurants, depending on the unit in
which you hunt. Average cost of food and lodging per person is about
$300.00
Guaranteed Landowner Tags: will be available on a
limited basis each year, how many and the units they are valid for will not be
known until the 2nd week in July each year. Application
