Huge British Columbia
Black Bears
Record book bears have been shot in this area in recent past. Our spring bear hunts are conducted in a variety of ways, depending on what you desire. This area of coastal B.C. produces some awesome bears, we routinely shot 6' - 7'5 bears each and every year. We offer 2 on 1 or 1 on 1 "spot and stalk" hunts as well as hunts using hounds. To access our vast area we use 4x4 and ATVs. Our bears range in color. Most of the bears are black, some are brown, cinnamon, and the odd blond. These hunts are conducted beginning around April 25th and right through to June 15th. A fall bear/deer combo hunt is available from September 10th through to October 10th. All hunts will run 6 full days, not including travel days.
Alberta Black Bears Over Bait
Our Camp is accessible by air to High Level or by a fine paved
highway to a half mile from Camp. Arriving by air to High Level you will be
picked up at the airport and enjoy a 45 minute drive to camp. Camp is located
approximately 600 miles northwest of Edmonton, Alberta along the bank of the
Chinchaga River. The boreal forest surrounding camp offers a
large population of black bears and timber wolves also inhabit the area. The
area surrounding Camp is so inaccessible that many locals have never been
hunted. One highlight of our camp is when the camp bell rings to signal the
arrival of a beautiful color phase bear complete with the
smiling, "bragging rights" hunter. Hunters are housed double in wooden,
electrically supplied, propane heated cabins. The large main kitchen tent is
heated by a wood stove to take off the chill on cool, rainy days. Many bear
tales are told, day and night, around our large outdoor fire pit. Our camp
shower facility is second to none for wilderness camping. An in-camp shooting
range, with stand, allows you to fine tune your equipment and accuracy on a
daily basis. Our bait sites are prepared two weeks before the first hunters
arrive and then they are maintained on a daily basis. The bait site has
permanent, comfortable seating tree stands 15-20 feet high with clear shooting
lanes; average shots ranging to 25 yards.
