Arnhem Land Buffalo Herd Management Hunts

This is a unique opportunity for hunters to take a large number of buffalo for a very reasonable price, by participating in our herd management program. Herd numbers at our Gan Gan and Dhuruputjpi concessions are at an all-time high and there is considerable pressure on us to lower the overall numbers, while providing the traditional landowners with a satisfactory return.

These hunts will be conducted on a 4x2 basis, during August and September, when the numbers are most concentrated. Each party of two hunters and one PH will travel by Toyota vehicle each day and locate small herds of buffalo cows. The action may take place from the vehicle or stalking, as each situation develops.

Accommodation will be at our Gan Gan buffalo camp, a comfortable tented camp with all amenities – including proper beds, insect-proof tents and dining area, hot and cold running water and showers, high-quality meals, limited beer and wine.

This is a GREAT opportunity to practice with your favourite big-game rifle, particularly for double rifle users. It is also a great chance to hunt the premier Arnhem Land Asiatic buffalo concessions and trophy bulls can also be taken, for trophy fee only, if time and the situation permits.

This is a rifle-only hunt – sorry no ‘alternative method’ hunters.

Separate alternative method management hunts can be arranged for muzzleloader, hand gun and archery hunters.

Hunt Package:
4x2 hunt rate – US$7500 per hunter
Five full days hunting plus six nights in camp

10 buffalo cows per hunter
Other animals that may be included at no charge - sick and injured, calves, meat animals for local community, etc.
Opportunity for trophy hunting, if time and situation permits.
Sport fishing and bird shooting, if time and season permits

Road or air charters to the hunt area
Firearm Licence and import permits ($165pp)
Trophy preparation of animals ($165 per item)
Trophy fees for other animals -

NB. Fees for the cows that are taken (included in the cost) will be paid to the local landowners for allowing us to participate in this program.
